What is homologation?
REN is responsible for electricity and natural gas transmission in Portugal. It operates the high-voltage grid and the substations that connect generation to consumption.
To apply equipment on this network, manufacturers must complete a homologation process. This includes submitting technical documentation, product testing, and manufacturing audits. Only then does a supplier enter the approved list, by material category.
